Quick News
Hey guys. We haven't been on here for a while, but my sister informs me that she has figured out how to get pictures on here, so we may have a picture blog soon. We're pretty busy this week, but we'll try to have a real post soon.

Tagged by Jessica and Andrea
So, this is Chelsea's first solo venture...she'll have to go to class in about 15 minutes, but that leaves just enough to time to be tagged, doesn't it? She'll try to include the other Braunsey twin as much as she can.
Five TV Shows I Watch:
1) Scrubs (This show is brilliant, Eric has all of the seasons that are available on DVD so we often watch them from start to finish, just not in one go)
2) BBC Robin Hood (A perfect union between Chelsea's love of all things British, and one of her favorites stories/storybook heroes. It's ridiculously good....oh, and Eric's watched them, so that counts, right?)
3) The Twilight Zone (The really clever, old black-and-white episodes. There is always a Twilight Zone marathon playing on the Sci-Fi channel for the New Year. We can't wait.)
4) Red Dwarf (An early-90's sci-fi comedy...and Chelsea doesn't really even like sci-fi. It's just so funny, one can't help but love it.)
5) Big Bang Theory (There may be other shows that one of us likes more than the other, but we recently starting watching this one , and it is just too funny for words. We highly recommend it.)
Five Favorite Restaurants:
1) Olive Garden
2) Pho Tran (out of the hundreds of pho places within the vicinity of our dorm, this is the one we usually end up at).
3) Shalimar (really delicious Indian food)
4) The Oak Table (Chelsea's best friend's family owns this. It's very good...Eric would probably say Okasan's or the Asian Bistro).
5) Fultano's (a pizza place in Cannon Beach, Oregon. Chelsea's just remembering this place because it was so good...she hasn't been there in about twelve years).
Five Things That Happened Yesterday
1) Chelsea went to Dance 101 and Eric went to Japanese and had a map quiz.
2) Chelsea went to History 261 and had a map quiz, Eric went to Swedish and learned how to say "ham" and "hot dog" (ask him sometime, it's pretty cool).
3) Chelsea's new face wash leaked all over her backpack and ruined her phone, Eric allowed her to use his phone for the evening.
4) Chelsea tutored a student for English 109 and Eric did some homework.
5) Chelsea and Eric watched Big Bang Theory together.
Five Things I'm Looking Forward To:
1) Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas (This part may be a little copy-catish)
2) Andrea's new baby (yay!)
3) Going to London for spring quarter
4) Payday
5) The Chamber Dance Concert tonight
Five Things I'm Worried About
1) My 302 paper that's due next Wednesday (not too worried, it's just so boring, I know I'll have to BS my way through most of it).
2) That this school year will go by too fast.
3) My 261 research paper. A 15 page paper, and the draft is due on October 24th. We just started class! How can we possibly know enough yet to write an entire research paper?
4) My friends back home (bigs hugs and sympathies for Ashley and her family after the recent loss of Ben due to a stupid drunk driver who still had her car after 3 DUIs!)
5) Being able to save enough to be in the UK for 3 months.
Five Things On My Wish List: (more cop-cating)
1) World peace
2) A cure forterribe diseases
3) Someone to do my research paper...someone who really cares about Saladin? Any takers? Anyone?
4) Good health and happiness for all my loved ones
5) More time to dance would be splendid

Tip of the day
Here is Chelsea's first college success tip. Don't purchase face wash and then have it leak all over your cell phone to the point where it is unusable. Trust us on this one. It's not a good idea. Eric adds that washing machines aren't good for them either. He tried that out this summer. So remember kids, keep an eye on your phone.
A few quick Eric-flavored bits
Hello everyone, Eric of the Braunsey Twins here. A few quick things about my day. First off, in Swedish we do a lot of singing. We learned the alphabet song a few weeks ago and now we've graduated to drinking songs.
Tomorrow is my meeting with the Speech And Hearing Sciences Deparment. For those of you who don't know, I am currently majoring in linguistics and interested in going into speech pathology. To do that I'll either need to get a double degree and be here at UW for a few more years, or finish up with linguistics and then do a year of prep classes to get ready for the Masters. Either way I'll end up going to get my masters degree from that department. Tomorrow I'm going to discuss my options with the department advisor and figure out what I'm going to do.
So in the words of the Swedish song, Helan går. Which doesn't mean goodbye, I just thought it sounded cool.

One for the road
Whew. Three blogs in one day. Don't worry, this'll be short and sweet. We've decided to do a post of the day. With things like TV game moment of the day, or tip of the day etc. This is TV Game moment of the day. Heard outside the building of Eric's Japanese class:
"It's the internet, so you'd think it wouldn't get boring. But it did."
"It's the internet, so you'd think it wouldn't get boring. But it did."
We're Baaack!
Hi everybody! We're sorry about the delay, but when little green men in a spaceship offer you something to eat besides dorm food, you can't really say no can you? And notice, we're saying, "we". This blog is so awesome, it takes two people to write it!
Ok, so we weren't abducted by aliens, and we have a lot of territory to cover since we haven't blogged in about ten days. Sorry! It's kind of like that story about the prodigal son... execpt there's two of us...and only one of us is a son.
So, we're in the midst of our third work of school, and things have gotten progressively busier for the Braunsey Twins. Eric's Japanese class has gotten slightly easier now that he understands what's going on, and his Swedish class has gotten slightly harder now that they are getting into more difficult grammar than "hello" and "goodbye". His history class has stayed the same, as they only meet two days a week.
Chelsea's dance class is really fun. The main teachers for Dance 101 are new, grad students, and a lot of fun! Even though it's a basic dance class, it's just as much fun as an advanced class with a lot less thinking to do. Since it's at 8:30 in the morning, Chelsea has fallen into a more productive sleeping pattern. And since she's essentially not a morning person, dance really helps to wake her up in the mornings! Plus, most of the students in the class are athletes who want to get a VLPA credit, so it makes her look extra graceful in comparison. English 302 was interesting for one day, but then it drifted back into dull territory, so there is nothing to add there...except that Chelsea has to turn in her first paper next Wednesday. History 261 is a pretty interesting class. It's technically called "Crusades History from a Middle Eastern Perspective". The professor for that class is a German guy, with a heavy accent and very interesting sense of humor. It makes his lectures more interesting, although he often has to search for a word if he doesn't know it in English. On the first day, he introduced himself and when the class was expecting to hear, "Hello, I'm professor Sh-war-tz" instead, he said, "I'm professor Sch-var-tz...with no 't'".
As you all know, there's more to college life than just class and school work. Chelsea has been known to hang out with her friend Freddie, her dashing twin brother, and her roomates, but she has spent every evening of this last week training for her new job, or working. For those of you who don't know, Chelsea tutors student athletes before, between, around, and after classes. Last Wednesday, she had to go to Meet Your Tutor Night in which she had to sit around a group of long tables with about 80 other tutors for 2 1/2 hours, greeting the student athletes as they came in. She ended up talking to the guy next to her, who is a grad student at the UW. He was...interesting...to say the least, and although he asked her if she wanted to get a beer with him, she doesn't forsee anything romantic happening between the two of them in the future...perhaps because she does not enjoy beer. She started officially tutoring on Monday, with a group of student athletes who are taking Drama 101. Now, the people in charge of the tutoring program made it sound as if the students needed help taking notes, getting organized, and budgeting their time. While that may be the case with some student athletes, many of the students that Chelsea works with are freshman, and freshman students are required to have tutors. So, tutoring some of them is a bit difficult because they already have a system down. Oh well! At least she gets paid!
Two weeks ago, Chelsea went back to Port Angeles for the weekend. Eric, now flying solo enjoyed some alone time. He watched an entire Chinese detective show on DVD, To Catch the Uncatchable. All that screen time can get a bit boring, so Eric exlpored a bit and ended up making a new friend. While taking a walk, a Danish girl named Julia asked him where a good place to eat was. Eric wasn't busy, so the two ended up hanging out for a few hours. They had a few odd things in common. Eric is a linguistics major, who switched from Asian studies, whereas Julia is a Chinese Studies major who swtiched from linguistics. They exchanged numbers and got together for dinner on Saturday and plan to get together sometime in the future. Also, while staying with Aunt Chuckie and Uncle Al this summer, Eric got to go to the family pig roast where he met distant relative Molly. Although Eric is still not sure how they're related, that didn't stop them from hanging out on Monday. Molly, her friend (whose name escapes Eric. It may have began with a D. Let's call him Deuteronomy) and Eric went out to a Taiwanese bakery. Later on Eric will interview Molly and translate what she says into Japanese for a homework assignment. Eric is looking forward to it. Also the twins went to Aunt Chuckie and Uncle Al's house for dinner on Sunday. It was delicious. The twins played Eragon and Robin Hood games with cousin Nathan, ate tacos and ice cream, and even got to go to a few interesting stores around town. You haven't lived until you've been to a store that sells bacon flavored mints. Eric didn't buy them, but he did get a lolipop shaped like Lenin's head.
So there you have it. Our lives so far. And if you'll excuse us, I think Dutroy is calling us back to the mother ship. Live long and prosper.

My room
Cough Cough. I make my way through the disorganized mass of books, laundry and paper that is my room. I finally make it to the chair in the center which faces my laptop. I open it brushing away all the cobwebs. I access the blog and begin to post...
All of that is just my (Eric) way of saying, long time no see. A quick lesson about college, boys and girls. It keeps you busy. Between classes, homework and amusing ourselves time can fly by and before you know it it's been over a week since you've posted. So here is a quick one about my room. ( A bigger joint venture is in the works, so stay tuned for an even greater blog, headed your way soon)
So my room has been the same since I've been here. Hansee Hall, Leary Wing, 103 blah, blah, blah. It's a single room, so I don't have to worry about my roommates, it faces a bathroom with a closing, locking door and shower. (A nice difference from the rest of the building where showers are tiny stalls in a semi-open area.) So what is the downside, Eric? I hear you asking somehow. It's all revolves around the old saying, location, location...you get the idea, location. My room has two hot water pipes running floor to ceiling, which without insulation keeps the room as warm as the best sauna in the business. I have insulation, but even so it gets a bit hot from time to time. So I naturally like to keep my windows open during the day. This leads me to, depending on your sense of humor, either the most serious or most funny problem with my room. It faces a little place I like to call Greek Row.
That's right folks, my dorm faces the street that the frat houses are on. So whenever there is a frat party, kegger, mixer, social event, or Thurday (I recently discovered there is a little event known as 'Thirsty Thursdays'. You can guess why) I get to hear the drunken ramblings of frat boys and their girlfriends. Now these fall into categories, which I'll describe for you now:
1. Yelling stupid things. I once hear a guy and his girlfriend get into a very loud arguement over Doctor Pepper, the catch that was all they said. Or more accurately yelled. "Dr. Pepper!" "Dr. Pepper!!" "DR. PEPPER!!!" .
2. Giggling + Running sounds. This is usually the girls domain, but I've heard guys do it too. A loud laugh and what I can only asume are foot steps. This is less funy in and of itself, but it usually heralds the beginning and ending of a stream of drunk people. It's like they send these people out to herald the arrival. It's one of those mysteries of nature, beautiful in it's way.
3. Incoherence. By far the most common, this happens for a number of reasons. The drunk people are all talking/yelling/being stupid at once and drown each other out, which is only fair as each one has already drowned themselves. It can be because my curtains are usually closed and somehow block a large amount of sound. And sometimes it's because drunk people don't make the best oraters.
4. And now my personal favorite, The drunkboys choir. Inside every frat boy, apparently, there lives a chorus boy just waiting to get out. After enough imbibing, these melodious men prowl the streets half yelling half singing. It's almost like the people who do Gregorian chants went on a communal wine binge and started chanting popular songs. But let me add, these are not the songs you'd expect college age boys to sing. For example, Oh Canada. You are the wind beneath my wings. That song is all the more touching when chanted by four guys who don't know all the words and cover this up by skipping parts or yelling randomly over parts they don't know. And of course, they did a Christmas special, singing the entire Jingle Bell Rock song around the Holidays last year. It was remarkable, they didn't miss a beat. "Jingle Bell time is a swell time to rock the night away" Heart warming, really.
5. And then of course there are your mundane, garden variety conversations and speech snippets, but these are less memorable, so I have no real examples.
And there you have it, a list of the five sorts of folks you'll hear outside my window if it's open around midnight. Have a great day and a joint venture will be posted soon.
